The United States Military Academy (USMA), also known as West Point, is a highly selective undergraduate-only institution located in the Hudson Valley about 50 miles north of New York City. West Point is funded by the federal government, and it exists to provide leaders of character for the U.S. Army. West Point is the Forbes magazine Best College in the United States for 2009. More information is available at http://www.westpoint.edu. The Department of Mathematical Sciences is one of thirteen academic departments responsible for the academic program at USMA. Our students, called "cadets", are taught three semesters (12 credit hours) of core mathematics. Coverage includes single calculus, mathematical modeling, and probability and statistics. Additional mathematics coursework is required for engineering and other technical majors. All courses are taught in small sections of at most 18 cadets. The Department offers a mathematics major, an operations research major, an applied statistics and data science major and minors in applied statistics and network science. Duties -Teach undergraduate mathematics courses in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the United States Military Academy. -Manage data, manage workflows, and be involved in budget tracking and decision-making in addition to your teaching and advising duties. -Teaching duties will be in core program courses including Mathematical Modeling and Introduction to Calculus, Calculus, and Probability and Statistics. -Teach Mathematics elective courses. -Actively participate in faculty development, and will support the personal growth and development of cadets in and out of the classroom.
