You are likely to end up working on a problem somewhere around enumerative and/or logarithmic geometry. You will be joining an active and growing group around enumerative and log geometry, with 3 other PhD candidates and 1-2 postdocs working on closely related topics, within a larger group in Leiden specialising in algebra, geometry and number theory. We run a lot of local reading groups, as well as taking part in national algebraic geometry seminars. The position comes with some light teaching duties.

The appointment will be extended for another three years for PhD candidates (salary range from € 2.443,- to € 3.122,- gross per month; pay scale P in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).
