Candidates must have or be completing a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field. Ideally, one of the new hires would teach a second course in abstract algebra in their second year at Macalester. Macalester offers an attractive environment for mathematical scientists. Our interdisciplinary department offers four distinct majors in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, and Computer Science. We pride ourselves on our innovative courses, close relationships with several client disciplines, and vibrant record of conducting research with undergraduates.
