JOB PURPOSE: The University of Wyoming seeks to fill an Academic Professional Lecturer (APL) position in Mathematics to begin August, 2022. This is a full-time benefited position; after a probationary period, the successful candidate will be eligible for a fixed-term-rolling contract appointment. The normal teaching load will be three courses per semester. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibility of this position is the effective teaching and course coordination of designated lower division mathematics courses. The position also entails advising of undergraduate mathematics majors, service to the department on committees, and in other capacities, and professional development. The successful candidate will be expected to take a leadership role in the department’s lower division courses such as algebra, trigonometry, or the calculus sequence. Such leadership includes curriculum enhancement, pedagogical innovation, development of student instructors, and articulation with Wyoming high schools and community colleges. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: This position requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Master’s degree in Mathematics or a closely related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in mathematics • Relevant experience teaching at the college level • Strong oral and written communication skills DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience in teaching and coordinating lower-division classes • Experience teaching classes with 100 or more students • Experience in pedagogical innovations • Experience with instructor training and development REQUIRED MATERIALS: Complete the online application and upload the following for a complete application: cover letter, resume or C.V. and contact information for four work-related references.
