Opportunity to teach at a leading Center of Actuarial Excellence as a Visiting Professor of Actuarial Science & Risk Management at Drake University. This is a full-time role (starting in August of 2022) that would place the right candidate on a high-performance faculty team focused on teaching and scholarship as well as service to the actuarial science profession. Successful candidates will present evidence of teaching effectiveness. The candidate will also be expected to participate in service activities for the university, college, program, and profession. Service related to the SoASRM may include advising students and student organizations, developing curricula, and outreach to the local insurance community. Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. An earned Doctorate degree or foreign equivalent in actuarial science is required and closely related fields will be considered from an accredited university. Those near completion (ABD) will be considered. Relevant actuarial credentials are welcome, but not essential. Candidates should also demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness. Selection will depend on the receipt of recommendation confirming the candidate’s teaching abilities and/or on the candidate’s satisfactory passing a teaching demonstration if selected for an on-campus interview.
