Denison University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Computer Science for a one-year term, to begin in August 2022. We are seeking an energetic and dynamic teacher who is committed to teaching a variety of undergraduate computer science courses in a liberal arts setting. Visiting faculty are encouraged to maintain active research programs; we are able to provide visiting faculty professional development support for their scholarship. The Department of Computer Science offers B.A., B.S. degrees and a minor in computer science, as well as a computational science concentration. The computer science major graduates approximately 25 majors per year. Denison’s strong computer science curriculum emphasizes core principles and interdisciplinary connections, exemplified by three flavors of our interdisciplinary introductory course. The department is also a primary contributor to Denison’s new interdisciplinary program in Data Analytics. Denison University is an academically rigorous, diverse, highly-selective residential liberal arts college enrolling approximately 2300 students from across the nation and around the world. Denison is located in the village of Granville, 30 minutes from Columbus, Ohio, the state capital, and 15th largest metropolis in the country. Columbus hosts a wide range of cultural and artistic opportunities. Granville also offers an excellent public school system and easy access to outdoor activities. Candidates must have earned at least a Master’s degree (or ABD) in Computer Science or a closely related field; a Ph.D. is preferred (individuals without a Ph.D. will be assigned the rank of Instructor).
