Howard University Department of Mathematics Assistant/Associate Professor in Algebraic Topology and Geometry The Department of Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with research interests in the area of Algebraic Topology and Geometry, inclusive of Differential Topology and Geometry. We seek outstanding applicants with a demonstrated track record of excellence in research and teaching. Successful candidates are expected to develop vigorous, extramurally-funded research programs in their areas of expertise, actively participate in the Department's teaching and curriculum development at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Evidence of interest and success in mentoring underrepresented students is highly desired. The Department of Mathematics currently consists of sixty (60) faculty members, conducting pure and applied research with specializations in Algebra, Number Theory, Algebraic Geometry, Topology, Analysis including Dynamical Systems and PDEs, Mathematical Biology, Combinatorics, Probability and Statistics. It offers BS and MS degrees and a PhD degree with focus areas in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistical Sciences.
