POSITION OVERVIEW Position title: Lecturer Salary range: Salary is based on an annual full-time salary of $62,455.00 and commensurate with experience. Anticipated start: 7/1/2022 Position duration: Duration through Academic Year 2022-23

POSITION DESCRIPTION Applicants internal to the UCM Department of Applied Mathematics who had an appointment in 2021-2022 and apply by the “Initial Review Date” of 3/11/2022 will be considered prior to all other applicants.

The School of Natural Sciences anticipates hiring full and part-time lecturer positions to teach the following subjects in AY 2022-2023:

Preparatory Calculus Calculus I & II Introduction to Scientific Data Analysis Statistics for Scientific Data Analysis Calculus I & II for Physical Sciences Vector Calculus, Linear Algebra and Differential Equations Probability and Statistics Numerical Analysis Other courses as needed

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor will be evaluating student work and exams, calculating and posting grades, and holding regular posted office hours each week.

This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and appropriate collective bargaining agreement. Advanced degree in Applied Mathematics or related field and experience teaching at the college or university level is required.

Salary is based on an annual full-time salary of $62,455.00 and commensurate with experience.

Appointments for AY 2022/2023 and/or Fall 2022 semester are reviewed in April, and for Spring 2023 semester are reviewed in October. The posting will remain open through February 2023 to accommodate upcoming course needs and new applicants.
