The Department of Mathematics at Northeastern University invites applications for a Non-Tenure Track position of Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor and Program Director of Bridge to Calculus (BtC), to start as early as Fall 2022. 

 This is a full time, benefits eligible position. The faculty member will be responsible for a 3-course teaching load outside of BtC and will participate in departmental, college, and university service, including service in outreach. As Program Director of BtC, the faculty member will be responsible for program management, curricular development, fundraising efforts, and the recruitment of program participants and teaching personnel, and will serve as liaison to the Boston Public School and other Boston area community partners. The Program Director will also advise on the establishment of the new Bridge to Science program of the College of Science, with the possibility of coordinating it. Northeastern’s Bridge to Calculus prepares Boston high school students to take AP calculus and other calculus courses, mainly through its signature program, an intensive six-week summer session on the Northeastern University campus. The program also includes annual events, like “Calculus Field Day”, and a year-round “Evening Math Question Center”. For more information see https://bridgetocalculus.sites.northeastern.edu 

 Qualifications:  Qualified candidates should be committed to fostering diverse and inclusive environments as well as to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern University education. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field by the appointment start date. Candidates must have a strong background in teaching mathematics. The successful applicant will have experience with summer outreach programs in Mathematics and will share the vision of Bridge to Calculus.
