Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics

Visiting faculty may serve on various program or school committees based on their interest and experience. The standard teaching load for this position is twelve credit hours per semester. Scope: The Mathematics program in the School of Science, Technology, and Mathematics seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics for a one year appointment, to begin in August 2022. Candidates with backgrounds in all areas of Mathematics are encouraged to apply.

Required Skills: We are looking for candidates showing excellence and enthusiasm in teaching a variety of lower and upper-level undergraduate mathematics courses. Good interpersonal skills, and an ability to mentor students both inside and outside the classroom are required.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics. ABD candidates will be considered.

College Description: Courses are offered in Mathematics to complement almost all disciplines in the University. In addition, the major works closely with the Center for Teacher Education in program planning for licensure for those desiring to teach high school or middle school mathematics. One of the highlights of the mathematical tradition at Ohio Northern University was Benjamin Finkel, an ONU graduate who was the founder of the American Mathematical Monthly in 1894. Mathematics resides within the School of Science, Technology, and Mathematics in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences.
