Westminster College invites applications for a full-time, one year position in Mathematics or a closely related field at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. The position begins August 2022, with potential of converting to tenure-track in the subsequent year. Duties include a 4-4 teaching schedule of beginning and service courses in mathematics as well as upper-level courses in mathematics or data science. While the visiting faculty member is exempt from committee service, engaging students in capstone projects or research along with a strong commitment to holistic student development is expected. An earned doctorate in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or a closely related field is required by the time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates who include active learning approaches and incorporate technology with instruction. In particular, experience with programming in R, Python, SQL and/or Mathematica is desired. Evidence of successful teaching experience is required.
