Position Description:

This 3-year postdoctoral position will be expected to conduct research and collaborate in mathematical biology and applied mathematics and/or data science. Candidates should have a background in relevant mathematical/statistical approaches, but prior knowledge of the application area is not a prerequisite. The scholar will work with Prof. Zixuan Cang (https://zcang.math.ncsu.edu/) on data-driven modeling in biology and developing mathematical tools for analyzing single-cell and spatial omics data. The scholar is expected to teach two courses per year. The particular courses are assigned by the department after close consultation with the scholar. A Ph.D. in mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematical biology, computational biology, or related fields is required. 

The starting date is flexible and is anticipated between January and August 2023.
