Postdoctoral Researcher in Bayesian Experimental Design for Inverse Problems

The postdoctoral researcher will work in the research group of Nuutti Hyvönen, and she/he will be affiliated with the Academy of Finland Centre of Excellence in Inverse Modelling and Imaging (https://www2.helsinki.fi/en/researchgroups/centre-of-excellence-of-inverse-modelling-and-imaging). The position is for 2(+1) years, and it will be filled at the latest in January 2023.

Requirements

We look for scholars who are about to complete, or have completed within the past 5 years, their doctoral studies in a relevant field. The candidates are required to have a strong background in inverse problems, Bayesian experimental design, uncertainty quantification, numerical analysis, scientific computing and/or a closely related field of mathematics. Programming skills and strong interest in implementing numerical methods in practice are considered a considerable advantage. A good command of English is required, Finnish language is not.

The expected starting salary is approximately 3700 €/month. The contract includes occupational health care benefits and a holiday bonus.
