The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Maine invites applications for a fixed-length academic year appointment as Lecturer. This position is for one year. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis. Anticipated start date is August 29, 2022. Preference will be given to candidates who can work collaboratively with our faculty in teaching undergraduate Mathematics and/or Statistics including the development of innovative teaching practices.

A graduate degree (masters level or higher) in Mathematics or Statistics or a related area is required by date of hire. Demonstrated effective teaching is required, as are excellent written and oral communication skills. Essential duties and responsibilities include undergraduate teaching, participation in course coordination and curriculum development, and service to the department, college and university. The normal teaching assignment for this position is three courses in each of the fall and spring sessions; this will include in-person teaching, and may also include online delivery.
