Position Description:    

Applications from outstanding candidates are invited for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Mathematical Analysis in the general fields of Calculus of Variations, Partial Differential Equations, and their applications (including those in the directions of Optimization and Machine Learning). The appointment will start in February 2023. 
The Department of Decision Sciences is an amazingly vibrant academic community with leading professors in Mathematical Analysis, Statistics, and Theoretical Economics and strong interactions with outstanding research groups in Optimization, Machine Learning, and Computing Sciences. It is located in central Milan, Italy, offering undergraduate (in particular, a new BSc program in Mathematical and Computing Sciences for Artificial Intelligence), graduate, Ph.D., MBA, and Executive programs. 
Applicants should have, or be close to completing, a Ph.D. and show high potential in research.

The successful candidates will be expected to develop a strong publication record, broadly contribute to the academic life of the department, and be effective teachers both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Compensation and teaching load will be competitive with other top European Schools.
