Department of Mathematics & Statistics at McMaster University invites
applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant or
Associate Professor in the area of Topology. The anticipated start date for
this position is July 1, 2023. We seek candidates with a PhD in Mathematics and a
proven record of research excellence in any major area of Topology, especially Geometric Topology. The successful candidate will establish their own externally funded
research program building on the current strengths of the department, will
supervise graduate students, and will teach at both graduate and undergraduate
levels. The
Department of Mathematics and Statistics currently has 42 full-time faculty
members and approximately 100 graduate students and 15 postdoctoral fellows. The research group in Geometry and Topology is nationally and
internationally recognized for its excellence. In addition to the priority area
for this search, current research interests of the group include geometric and
algebraic topology, differential geometry, gauge theory, geometric group
