The Mount Holyoke College Department of Mathematics and Statistics, which has offered a major in statistics since 1986, invites applications for a tenure-track position in statistics at the Assistant Professor level to begin Fall 2023. Qualifications include a doctorate in statistics or a related field (completed or anticipated by Fall 2023), a commitment to teaching and scholarship in a liberal arts environment, and evidence of classroom effectiveness. A well-established candidate at the Associate Professor level will also be considered. 


Mount Holyoke College is an institution that values excellence in both research and teaching.  We seek a candidate with a sustainable research program and an active interest in work with undergraduates on statistical research projects. The successful candidate will also have a demonstrated commitment to or potential for strong teaching at the undergraduate level including mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. Candidates from all fields of statistical methodology and areas of application will be considered. Members of the department are active in both research and curriculum development and teach two courses per semester. Mount Holyoke College is a member of the Five College Consortium, which encourages and facilitates collaboration among its members. Statistics faculty and students across the consortium regularly meet to share research and curricular initiatives.
