The Department of Mathematics at Brigham Young University invites applications for a tenure-track professional faculty position to begin in August 2023. Starting rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates will be evaluated on evidence of excellent teaching and the potential to make significant service contributions. The application deadline is October 1, 2022.

Required Degree: PhD in mathematics. Required degree must be completed by the start date

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Teaching. The teaching load will generally be two courses (6-8 credits) in each of Fall and Winter semesters, and one course (3-4 credits) in Spring or Summer term. Teaching assignments will be from lower and upper division undergraduate mathematics courses.
  • Math Lab Director. Oversee and administer all operations of the BYU Math Lab, including hiring, training, and supervising TAs and secretaries
