UE07 £34,304 - £40,927 per annum Full-Time; 35hrs per week Fixed-Term; 2 years The School of Mathematics is seeking to appoint a University Teacher in Operational Research (OR) This is a fixed-term position, focusing mainly on teaching across a range of OR and Optimization courses. The Opportunity: The duties allocated will be dependent on the expertise of the appointee and will include delivering effective teaching to undergraduate and/or taught postgraduate programmes. The role will also include the supervision of student projects and involvement in assessment of students, helping to develop courses and programmes, possibly online where this is appropriate, and teaching related administration. There will be opportunities to take part in the research activities in our School. The School takes career development seriously: we will mentor the post holder to develop key skills and experiences in teaching and learning, and support participation in the Edinburgh Teaching Award, which leads to a Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellowship. A PhD in Operational Research, Optimization or a closely related discipline is essential. Experience in University-level teaching of operational research is highly desirable, as well as the ability to demonstrate effective team working, communication and interpersonal skills.
