The Department of Mathematics in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics invites applications from candidates working in the areas of large-scale computational statistics with applications in key research domains for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in August 2023. We are particularly interested in someone with strong computing experience in developing and applying statistical models for massive data sets requiring the intensive use of multicores computing centers available at University of Houston. Desired hire will also have strong basis in statistical methodology and theory to develop novel statistical methods to deal with complex data.

The Mathematics Department is seeking outstanding candidates with the potential for exceptional research, excellence in teaching, and a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty, graduate and undergraduate student population.

A minimum requirement for this position is a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Note: Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidate.
