The Mathematics Department at Stonehill College seeks candidates for a tenure-track position to begin in the Fall of 2023. The successful applicant will join a department of six full-time faculty members with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students. The new hire would serve the data science and actuarial mathematics majors which are joint programs with other departments at Stonehill College. We seek enthusiastic applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduates.

Teaching responsibilities will include introductory topics (e.g., calculus and introductory statistics) as well as upper-level undergraduate courses that serve the data science and actuarial mathematics majors. The teaching load will be three courses in each of the fall and spring semesters. Academic advising, college service, and research are also required.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, or a closely related field by August 2023. We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in either data science or actuarial mathematics. Demonstrated interest in teaching undergraduates is strongly preferred, as is an interest in conducting research with undergraduate collaborators. We expect to see evidence of an awareness of the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in education, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment among faculty and students. Applications are accepted through the Stonehill Jobs website only. Interested applicants should submit online a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy and experience, a research statement, and graduate transcripts. At least one recommendation letter is required, and applicants can submit up to three letters. No preference is given to candidates who submit more than the one letter required. Inquiries should be sent to the department chair: Heiko Todt at htodt@stonehill.edu. The application deadline is November 15, 2022. https://jobs.stonehill.edu/postings/23026 Applicants who will enrich the diversity of the campus community are strongly encouraged to apply.
