Auburn University - Department of Mathematics and Statistics Assistant Professor in Analysis The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University is seeking to fill a nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin August 16, 2023. An earned doctorate in Mathematics by the appointment start date and postdoctoral research experience are required. Successful candidates are expected to pursue independent research and teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates are expected to be able to communicate effectively in English and must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. We seek applicants with research specialization in Analysis. The successful candidate will be able to interact and collaborate with researchers in the areas of mathematical modelling and analysis of quantum, biological, or physical systems, applied dynamical systems, analysis of PDEs, spectral theory, and harmonic analysis. We seek experts who will be able to establish interdisciplinary collaborations with researchers in a wide range of applied disciplines. The department has a PhD program and various MS programs, including a new MS program in Data Science. It has over 50 mathematicians/statisticians and more than 120 graduate students engaged in research in a wide variety of areas in mathematics and statistics.
