The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta invites applications for postdoctoral positions in mathematics and statistics commencing in 2023. As offers are issued by individual faculty members within the department, it is recommended applicants contact one or more persons in the department with whom your research areas overlap. More information about the research interests of our faculty can be found here:

The length of the term of a fellowship is negotiable between you and the potential supervisor. The position may include a teaching component of, at most, two courses per year and may also provide funding for research-related expenses.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, or related area prior to the start of the fellowship. Applicants should submit a cover letter including the names of possible research mentors, a curriculum vitae, a publication list, a research statement, and at least three confidential letters of reference.
Review of applications will begin immediately. Applications received before November 17, 2022, may also be considered for sponsorship for a PIMS postdoctoral fellowship, the details of which can be found here: pims.math.ca/scientific/postdoctoral
We thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those individuals selected for consideration to receive an appointment will be contacted by the faculty member. The University of Alberta is committed to an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workforce. We welcome applications from all qualified persons. We encourage women; First Nations, Métis and Inuit persons; members of visible minority groups; persons with disabilities; persons of any sexual orientation or gender identity and expression; and all those who may contribute to the further diversification of ideas and the University to apply. |
