The Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) has a career opening for a Technical Editor at the Center for Communications Research, Princeton in Princeton, New Jersey (CCRP). In this position, you would have the opportunity to have a major impact on research related to national security while working in technical document editorial support.

Reports to: Deputy Director

Primary Responsibilities:

Ensures documents are typeset correctly.

In coordination with authors, edits documents to fit CCR-Princeton standards.

Ensures documents are classified correctly.

Manages document production process.

Assists research staff with LaTeX.

Assists research staff with pre-publication review of unclassified documents.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required preferably in mathematics or related field. Masters or Ph.D. preferred.

Four or more years of work experience editing mathematical documents.

Facility with computers and Linux operating system.

Facility with common editors in the research community such as Emacs or Vi.

Expertise in word processing and desktop publishing software including LaTeX, PDF files, web-based applications, and graphics software.

Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.

Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances (which IDA will sponsor).
