Teaching Postdoctoral Position in Mathematics

Applications are invited for a Teaching Postdoctoral Scholar position in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky beginning in Fall 2023. The successful candidate is expected to teach six courses per academic year, normally three courses during each semester. The teaching postdoc will receive formal and informal training regarding contemporary instructional methods, including classroom practices, assessment, and supervision of teaching assistants. Additional opportunities for professional development include seminars and workshops offered by both the Mathematics Department and the UK Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching. The initial appointment will be for one year and is expected to be renewed for an additional year, subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

The position offers competitive salary and full benefits. Applicants should have at least a master’s degree in Mathematics or a closely related field; a Ph.D. degree in mathematics or a closely related field is strongly preferred. Candidates are expected to present evidence of excellence in teaching.
