Position Description
The University of Chicago Department of Statistics invites applications for a Senior Instructional Professor rank position in Statistics. The selected candidate will be appointed as Assistant Senior Instructional Professor, Associate Senior Instructional Professor, or Senior Instructional Professor, with rank determined by qualifications. The appointment will be for a term of up to five years, renewable. This is a career-track position with competitive salary and benefits. The Department of Statistics has a vibrant, rigorous Master's program in Statistics, which has both required coursework and research components, and we seek to hire an individual who can contribute to the educational goals of that program. In addition to classroom teaching, position responsibilities include serving as Assistant Director of the Master's program in Statistics, which involves participating in academic administration of the program and in the hiring, evaluating, and mentoring of relevant academic staff, participating in admissions for the program, and providing academic and career advising to students, including advising students as they begin the research requirement (Master's Paper) and helping to evaluate Master's Papers. 

 Qualifications Required

 A Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field; At least one year of experience managing TAs or other academic personnel; At least one year of experience teaching at a college or university as an instructor of record. Preferred: experience developing courses; experience advising students; research experience in Statistics or a related field.
