TITLE: Assistant Professor in Applied and Computational Mathematics ABOUT THE POSITION: The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Applied and Computational Mathematics to begin in January 2024. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in mathematics, applied mathematics, computational science, or a closely related area completed by the appointment date. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate excellence in teaching and research. Those with expertise in computational biology, mathematical modeling, scientific computation, optimization, optimal control, and related areas are encouraged to apply. The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers academic programs that lead to a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mathematics and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Applied Mathematics. It has over 17 full-time faculty members whose expertise covers essential topics in applied mathematics.
