The Mathematics Department of Rutgers University-New Brunswick invites applications for positions which may be available September 2023: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Harold H. Martin Professor of Mathematics Subject to availability of funding, the Department will have two openings at the level of Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, with the possibility of appointment at a higher level for exceptional candidates. One of these positions may be a named position, the Harold H. Martin chair. The department has identified several priority areas (Algebra & Algebraic Geometry, Computational Applied Mathematics/Data Science, Discrete Mathematics, Geometry & Topology, Mathematical Analysis, and Number Theory), but outstanding candidates in any area of mathematics may be considered. Candidates must have a PhD in mathematics by employment start date and have a strong record of research accomplishments in mathematics as well as effective teaching. Candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics. The normal teaching load for research-active faculty is 2–1. Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine. Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination. |
