Senior Lecturer/Reader/Chair in Mathematical Finance and Statistics Starting salary: • Senior Lecturer: £68,313 - £71,264 per annum • From £73,806 per annum for Reader • From £84,491 per annum for Chair Location: South Kensington Campus Ref: NAT01346 Imperial College’s Department of Mathematics aims to recruit a Senior Lecturer, Reader, or Professor associated with its Mathematical Finance and Statistics Sections starting in October 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. The Mathematical Finance and Statistics Sections at Imperial conduct internationally excellent research across a broad range of areas of stochastic analysis, applied probability, statistics, machine learning, optimal control, and applications to finance. Applicants with strong track records of excellence in research and teaching are encouraged to apply. Duties & Responsibilities You will conduct internationally excellent research in Mathematical Finance, Statistical Finance, Machine Learning, Probability related to finance, or a related field. It is expected that you will be able to credibly contribute to the Department’s leading MSc programmes in Mathematical Finance and Statistics, supervise high-quality PhD students and manage staff such as Research Associates. You will also promote the reputation of the Department of Mathematics through scientific meetings, scholarship, and other outwardly-facing activities. Essential Requirements (Commensurate with level of appointment) • A PhD (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics or a closely related field • Research interests in Mathematical or Statistical Finance. • Proven abilities to conduct a personal research programme at the highest level and to attract competitive research funding • Strong leadership potential • Experience of collaborative research (desirable) • Experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels Further Information These are full-time roles but part-time may be considered for exceptional candidates.
