Position Description:    

The School of Mathematical Sciences at Zhejiang University invites applications for multiple postdoctoral positions in all major areas of mathematics.

Zhejiang University is a leading Chinese research university that ranks in the top-100 globally. The university is located in Hangzhou, which, as one of the most picturesque and the most liveable cities in China, is rapidly becoming a major cosmopolitan center.

You, the candidate, will be supported to take your career in all kinds of exciting new directions. To qualify, you are supposed to possess a Ph. D. in mathematics, computer science, or a related field by the summer of 2023, and demonstrate outstanding promise in research. Salaries are commensurate with qualifications and will be at a high international standard.

Areas of our particular interest include, but are not limited to,

1. Cluster algebras and related to topology, number theory and representation theory;

2. Wave Scattering problems;

3. Inverse problems and computational electromagnetics;

4. Direct and inverse problems for wave propagation in complex medium (including acoustic waves, electromagnetic waves, elastic waves and multiple waves coupling), inverse problems on stochastic differential equations (including random sources, medium and interfaces problems), diffractive optics and nano-optics, various inverse problems related to material sciences;

5. Inverse problems on partial differential equations;

6. Numerical linear algebra;

7. Computational geometry, computer-aided geometric design, and computational topology;

8. Numerical PDEs such as finite volume, finite element, and discontinuous Galerkin methods;

9. Mathematical biology and computational neural sciences;

10. Infrastructure software libraries for scientific computing.
