FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Hunter College invites applications for a Doctoral Lecturer position beginning fall 2023. The Department is seeking an individual with a PhD in mathematics who has proven ability to teach a wide range of courses at both the elementary and advanced undergraduate mathematics levels as well as graduate courses at the masters level. In addition to teaching, the position calls for advising incoming and transfer students and working with individual students in Independent Study. The Doctoral Lecturer position is eligible for a Certificate of Continuing Employment after five years. Although the position has no requirement of research publications, the successful candidate is expected to demonstrate mathematical interests outside of teaching responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS The applicant must have a Ph.D. in mathematics or equivalent, experience teaching a wide range of courses in undergraduate and beginning graduate level mathematics, and experience advising students and working with students individually. Candidates must show evidence of successful teaching. VACCINE REQUIREMENT Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment. COMPENSATION $56,821 - $98,309; commensurate with qualifications and experience.
