The Carleton College Department of Mathematics and Statistics anticipates hiring one or more Visiting Assistant Professors in Mathematics for a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal for a second year to begin September 1, 2023. PhD in hand or imminent completion by that date is preferred. Teaching responsibilities will include six courses spread out over our calendar of three ten-week terms.

Carleton is a highly selective liberal arts college with a student body of approximately 2,000. Located in the thriving two-college town of Northfield, Minnesota, it is forty-five miles from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, in easy reach of a vibrant metropolitan area that is home to three million people and rich cultural resources. The seventeen-member Department of Mathematics and Statistics resides in a modern building with excellent facilities including a dedicated computing lab. The faculty is passionate about teaching and active in scholarship. We are particularly interested in applicants who have a demonstrated commitment to attracting and retaining students from underserved groups.
