You are likely to end up working on a problem somewhere around enumerative and/or logarithmic geometry. You will be joining an active and growing group around enumerative and log geometry, with 3 other PhD candidates and 1-2 postdocs working on closely related topics, within a larger group in Leiden specialising in algebra, geometry and number theory. We run a lot of local reading groups, as well as taking part in national algebraic geometry seminars. The position comes with some light teaching duties.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT We offer a full-time appointment of initially one year, with an extension after a positive evaluation of the progress of the research, personal capabilities and compatibility. The appointment will be extended for another three years for PhD candidates (salary range from € 2.541,- to € 3.247,- gross per month; pay scale P in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).
