The Department of Mathematics at the University of Connecticut (UConn) is pleased to invite applications for a non-tenure track position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning August 23, 2023.

  • A Ph.D. or equivalent foreign degree in mathematics (granted by August 2023).
  • University-level teaching experience.
  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity in higher education through research and teaching.


  • Experience with educational technologies, such as online homework systems, message boards, videos, smartboards, and interactive technological teaching tools.
  • Experience teaching large lectures.


This position is a full-time, 9-month position for an initial duration of one year, renewable annually for up to two additional years (three years total), contingent on satisfactory performance, mutual agreement, and availability of funds. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The teaching load for this position is seven courses during the academic year.


The successful candidate's employment is contingent upon completing a pre-employment criminal background check.
