Imperial College London invites applications for up to 8 full-time permanent faculty member positions at the Lecturer / Assistant Professor level, who will contribute to research, teaching and service at the College’s Imperial-X (I-X) initiative. Qualified candidates may also be appointed at the Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor level.

The faculty positions will be part of the College’s flagship I-X initiative, which is a new collaborative environment for research, education, and entrepreneurship across artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, statistics, and digital technologies. The goal of I-X is to realise new models for research, education, and entrepreneurship that go beyond traditional siloes imposed by academic disciplines, thus forming a blueprint for the University of the Future. At I-X, we value research in both foundational and theoretical underpinnings, practical applied areas, transdisciplinary research, and digital innovation. I-X benefits from a strategic investment by the College, which includes new facilities on Imperial’s White City and South Kensington campuses. Other benefits to our staff are subsidised childcare on campus, flexible and family-friendly working policies, opportunities for further professional development, periodic sabbaticals, and free healthcare through the National Health Service. We can provide support and advice on the dual-career needs of candidates and their partners.

Animals may only be used in research programmes where their use is shown to be necessary for developing new treatments and making medical advances. Imperial is committed to ensuring that, in cases where this research is deemed essential, all animals in the College’s care are treated with full respect, and that all staff involved with this work show due consideration at every level. http://www.imperial.ac.uk/research-and-innovation/about-imperial-research/research-integrity/animal-research/
