The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Utah State
University, invites applications for one or more positions as a Temporary Assistant
Professor for the Logan campus of Utah State University with a start date of August
1, 2023. The
major responsibilities of the position include teaching four undergraduate
classes in Mathematics (two per semester) and performing research in Mathematics.
Additional responsibilities include participating with at least one of the
research groups in the Department and contributing to the research climate and
graduate education. The position is a benefited,
temporary academic year (nine-month) non-tenure track appointment with the
possibility of summer teaching for additional compensation. There is no
potential for promotion because the position is temporary, limited to one year,
but with a possible second (final) year renewal contingent on performance and
availability of funds. Minimum qualifications include: · Doctoral
degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline, completed before the
position start date. · Evidence of experience in mathematics teaching/tutoring. · Documented mathematical research background. Preferred
