TITLE: Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor in Mathematics DEPARTMENT: Rosary College of Arts and Sciences FLSA Status: Exempt (salary) STATUS: Full Time, visiting for one year REPORTS TO: Dean, RCAS Open Until Filled: Yes Dominican University seeks applicants for a visiting position in the mathematics department to begin in August 2023 at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor. The position is for one academic year. Applicants for the Visiting Assistant Professor position must hold a PhD in mathematics or a related field. Applicants who hold a masters in mathematics or related field may apply for the position at the rank of Visiting Instructor. Expertise in numerical analysis, statistics, or applied mathematics is a plus. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses from a variety of levels, including developmental mathematics and possibly courses at the calculus level, as well as service to the department. Faculty members work collaboratively and collegially. Working alongside faculty is a Student Care Team, devoted specifically to mathematics and science courses, that supports students academically and non-academically. Qualifications: Required qualifications: For the Visiting Assistant Professor position, a PhD in mathematics, statistics, or a related field is required. For the Visiting Instructor position, a masters in mathematics, statistics, or a related field is required. Preferred qualifications: Experience teaching racially minoritized students and demonstrated experience creating, organizing, and/or leading programs for minoritized student populations About Dominican University: Dominican University is a Catholic, comprehensive teaching university located in River Forest, a suburb of Chicago.
