Detailed Job Description
The School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS) at the Rochester Institute of Technology invites applications for one or more non-tenure track full-time Lecturer, and one or more non-tenure track Visiting Lecturer, faculty positions starting in August 2023. Lecturers and Visiting Lecturers are responsible for teaching and expected to have a strong commitment to and proven ability to teach foundational mathematics courses, including, but not limited to, introductory math courses and calculus. The professional duties will include instruction, office hours, and attending college and school faculty meetings. We seek candidates who have knowledge of and experience with active learning pedagogies, which play an important role in our coursework.

Department/College Description
The College/ Department: The School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS) is one of six academic units in RIT's College of Science, which also houses the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science, the Integrated Sciences Academy, the School of Chemistry and Materials Science, the School of Physics and Astronomy, and the Thomas H. Gosnell School of Life Sciences. The SMS promotes research in mathematical and statistical sciences and is the home of 79 faculty members, four administrative staff members, three undergraduate programs (Applied Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, and Applied Statistics and Data Analytics), two MS programs (Applied and Computational Mathematics, and Applied Statistics) and a Ph.D. program in Mathematical Modeling. The SMS offers the required mathematics and statistics courses for students from all RIT programs.

Required Minimum Qualifications
PhD in mathematics, statistics or related field with one or more years of demonstrated excellence in teaching university-level mathematics courses in an English-speaking environment. Will consider applicants with a Master's degree with demonstrated teaching excellence.
