Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Lecturers in Mathematical Sciences, College of Science [R0135597].

ROLE of the POSITION
The duties for this non-tenure track lecturer position focus on effectively teaching undergraduate Mathematics and
Statistics courses, including Fundamentals of College Math, Algebra, Precalculus, Finite Math and Introduction to
Statistics. The successful candidate may also serve on Department Committees as needed.

PROFILE of the DEPARTMENT/COLLEGE
The Department of Mathematical Sciences currently has 30 regular faculty members and over 50 graduate students. It offers BA, BS, MS and Ph.D. degrees in Mathematical Sciences. The Department is part of the College of Sciences, which also include the departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Physics and Astronomy, Geoscience, and Life Sciences. The Department of Mathematical Sciences is committed to enhancing the development and maintenance of an equitable working environment in which diversity is valued.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Master’s degree in Mathematical Sciences or a closely related field from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences or a closely related field, and to candidates who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching.
