Auburn University - Department of Mathematics and Statistics Lecturer Position The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University is seeking to fill a nine-month,
full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position to begin August 2023. The position is a one-year
appointment that is renewable subject to annual review of performance, need for services and
available funding. An earned Masters degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline by the
appointment start date is required. Interested candidates with more advanced qualifications are
desired (Ph. D. in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education or related fields.) Successful
candidates are expected to be able to communicate effectively in English. Excellent written and
interpersonal communication skills are required. The department seeks an enthusiastic candidate who is committed to teaching excellence, actively
engaging undergraduates, and is able to teach our undergraduate courses in mathematics and/or
statistics. Experience with implementing inquiry, project, or technology-based active learning into
teaching will be an asset. Other related duties include preparing course syllabi, grading, maintaining
weekly office hours, coordinating and training GTAs for recitation instructions, promoting
Mathematics programs and recruiting majors, and participating in activities in conjunction with the
Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the College of Sciences and Mathematics. Salary and
