The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (MCS) at Belhaven University is seeking a candidate for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor/Associate Professor position in computer science. The position requires a graduate degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science or a related field. Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate education. The position is open to all areas of scholarly interest, but special consideration will be given to candidates with a background in data science or cybersecurity who may engage undergraduate students in research projects.

Responsibilities include: teaching introductory and advanced undergraduate computer science courses with flexibility in course assignments, fostering career development in students, and generally supporting community within the department. A successful candidate must articulate a Christian worldview in one's teaching and academic discipline and fully support the University Vision, Mission, and Statement of Faith as set forth at:

Belhaven University’s Math & Computer Science Department The MCS Department has close to 100 students majoring in one of its programs and fits in Belhaven’s Division of Science & Mathematics, the largest academic group on campus. There is generous support from the university’s administration, and a healthy community of colleagues within the STEM disciplines. Belhaven’s Division of Science & Mathematics also boasts a large proportion of female students as well as minority and first-generation college students.
