The Department of Mathematics at the University of Luxembourg is hiring a doctoral candidate (PhD student) in Geometry, to work under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Marc Schlenker.

Your Role... The main topics of the project through which the position is funded include:

Contribute to research in the field of Low-dimensional Geometry and Topology Write a thesis in the domain of Low-dimensional Geometry and Topology Limited teaching activity (at most 3 hours/week) What we expect from you… Master’s degree (or equivalent) in mathematics Dedication to doing research level mathematics Willingness to integrate in a team Solid knowledge in Geometry, Geometric analysis, or related topics Good written and oral skills in English. Some knowledge of French and/or German is helpful, but not required The position offers... Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract 36 Month (extendable up to 48 months if required) Starting date: Sept, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter Work Hours: Full Time 40.0 Hours per Week Employee and student status Location: Belval Job Reference: UOL05679 The yearly gross salary for every PhD at the UL is EUR 39953 (full time)
