The Biostatistics Program, School of Public Health at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) seeks candidates for a full-time tenure track/tenured position as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. A strong preference will be given to those candidates with expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science. Skills in statistics computing, Linux, data science, natural language processing, visual image recognition, and programming languages such as Python, R, SAS, Java, Scala, and TypeScript are desired.

Applicants for the tenure track position must hold a doctorate degree in biostatistics, statistics, or related areas. Candidates being considered for this position will have evidence of or strong potential for establishing an independent, extramurally funded research program, a demonstrated interest in teaching, and a commitment to biostatistics and public health. Candidates will be expected to teach biostatistics courses, collaborate with other researchers, establish independent externally funded research, and advise and mentor students, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty scholars.

Biostatistics faculty members enjoy strong collaborative relationships with other departments in the School of Public Health and with schools across the health science center, including the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Dentistry, School of Allied Health, and the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. We seek candidates with research interests and experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning that complement and strengthen current research programs by the faculty on our health sciences center campus.
