Faculty Positions at American University, Washington D.C. Instructor or Professorial Lecturer Department of Mathematics and Statistics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for two full-time non-tenure track teaching faculty positions for Academic Year 2023-2024, potentially renewable for subsequent years.. The appointment will commence on August 28, 2023. The rank will depend on terminal degree and stature in the field.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree (initial rank: Instructor) or a Ph.D. (initial rank: Professorial Lecturer) on or before August 28, 2023. Teaching experience in service level Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science courses is preferred. The position will require the incumbents to teach 18-21 credits hours per year (equivalent to 3 courses per semester) of statistics, mathematics, or data science courses, with most of the teaching load anticipated in statistics. All faculty are expected to hold office hours and actively participate in the Department’s and University’s activities and service.
