Full time (35 hours per week)

We are looking for a postdoctoral research associate (PDRA) to conduct research in finite element exterior calculus for the Einstein equations, under the mentorship of Dr Kaibo Hu.

The Opportunity:

This 3-year postdoc position is funded by Dr Hu’s Royal Society University Research Fellowship, which aims to develop finite element methods for discretising geometric structures. The start date is 1st October 2023, or a mutually agreeable date between then and 1st December 2023.

Your skills and attributes for success: PhD in mathematics or physics to be awarded before taking up the position An interest in developing finite element exterior calculus for discretising geometric structures, with applications to solving the Einstein equations. Background in areas including some of the following: finite element theory and computation, numerical relativity, discrete differential geometry. Desire and/or experience in engaging with the research community.
