Position Description:    

One to two positions at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor ranks are available at the Department of Mathematics at Xiamen University Malaysia. Candidates will be considered in all major fields of pure and applied mathematics. Priorities are given to those specializing in Statistics, Probability, Financial Mathematics, Analysis, Optimisation, and Combinatorics.

Being a branch campus of the Xiamen University in China, Xiamen University Malaysia aspires to become a university with a distinct global outlook, featuring first-class teaching and research. The applicant will join a highly motivated, diverse international team of mathematicians. Xiamen University Malaysia attracts top mathematics students from Malaysia as well as many international students including a large number of students from China. The campus is conveniently located south of Kuala Lumpur (less than half an hour to the centre of Kuala Lumpur and ten minutes to Kuala Lumpur International Airport by train).

Members of our department have the possibility to apply for internal research grants, research grants of the Malaysian government as well as research grants form China (help will be provided by our Chinese speaking colleagues).

The medium of instruction is English. Applicants should be able to conduct classes in English up to master level.

Successful applicants are expected to start in March 2024 or September 2024.

Applications should consist of a curriculum vitae, including a list of publications, a recent photo, and academic transcripts. Applicants should have received a PhD by the start of their appointment at Xiamen University Malaysia. In order to obtain a Malaysia work permit, foreign applicants need to have at least three years of university teaching experience.
