New College of Florida invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Mathematics starting in August, 2023. A Ph.D. in mathematics is required. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach undergraduate courses in pure and applied mathematics. The teaching load is two courses per semester plus sponsoring individual and group tutorials, independent study projects, senior theses, and projects in the data science masters program. Expertise in applied mathematics is preferred, but strong candidates in any areas will be considered. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a demonstrated commitment to innovative undergraduate liberal arts teaching. This non-tenure track position is a 9-month appointment for the 2023-2024 academic year that may have the possibility of renewal. We expect that a tenure-track position will become available in the following year. Situated on Sarasota Bay along the Gulf of Mexico, New College is the nationally recognized honors college of the State University System in Florida.
