We invite applications for three positions as a one-year senior lecturer or lecturer, beginning Fall 2023. Rank will depend on experience: appointment as a senior lecturer will require the equivalent of two years’ experience as an instructor of record. These are non-tenure-track appointments with a teaching load of three courses per semester. We are looking for individuals with a Ph.D. in mathematics or statistics (in hand no later than August 15, 2023) who have an outstanding teaching record and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. Candidates should also present evidence of good mentoring, organizational, and administrative skills. Please use MathJobs, org to submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching statement, and evidence of effective teaching, and have letter writers submit three letters of recommendation focused on teaching. Evidence of effective teaching should include (if not already covered in the CV or teaching statement) a list of all courses taught over the past five years, concise summaries of all available student evaluations from the past five years, and descriptions of any relevant curriculum development, course coordination, or other teaching-related activities. Please be brief: submission of extensive course materials is not required. Candidates should be prepared to provide full teaching evaluations on request. Review of applications will commence immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Information about our department is available at https://as.vanderbilt.edu/math/.
