Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Amherst College The Amherst College Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in mathematics at the rank of assistant professor that will begin on July 1, 2024. All research areas of mathematics will be considered. Responsibilities for the position include teaching two courses per semester, maintaining an active research program, supervising undergraduate theses, and supporting the mathematics program at the college. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the department's efforts to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to participate in the department's governance and intellectual community. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field, or complete all requirements for that degree before the start of the appointment. They must demonstrate a strong commitment to research, and be passionate about teaching mathematics at all levels to undergraduates of diverse backgrounds.
