FACULTY
POSITIONS IN MATHEMATICS AT UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN The Department of Mathematics at
the University of Michigan is seeking exceptional candidates for
positions in mathematics offered in combination with the LSA Collegiate Fellows
Program (LCF). These will be regular
tenure track or tenured appointments at the assistant or associate professor
level with commensurate salaries which will be enhanced by additional resources
from the Collegiate Fellowship. The
Collegiate Fellowships can be held prior to or concurrently with a tenure track
appointment. The candidate is expected to have an established superb research program. The College of Literature, Science and the Arts (LSA) and the University seek applicants whose research, teaching, and service will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education. The program is particularly interested in scholars with a demonstrated interest in bringing to their teaching, mentoring, service, engagement, and/or research the critical perspectives that come from underrepresented educational backgrounds and pathways or scholarly understanding of the experiences of groups who are historically marginalized in higher education. Collegiate Fellows participate in a program that includes faculty mentoring, professional development, and academic networking opportunities. We ask that applicants submit their materials to the Department by September 22, 2023. However, applications will be accepted after that date and considered when possible. This early submission is strongly recommended and allows us to assess candidates prior to the LCF program deadline. The LCF program considers scholars across multiple disciplines and is administered by the College of LSA. The Department can assist applicants in confirming their eligibility. To be considered, please apply at both mathjobs.org and through the LSA Collegiate Fellows
Program (LCF) website. The following materials are required: (1) Cover Letter, (2)
curriculum vitae, (3) research statement, (4) statement that shows your
commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, (5) teaching statement, (6)
three to four letters of reference (one of which must address teaching). Statements are recommended to be up to two
pages each. Tenured appointments will go through the usual tenure reviews. Inquiries should be directed to math-search@umich.edu. The LCF application has similar though slightly
different requirements. The University of Michigan is an Equal
Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Women and minorities are encouraged to
apply. The University is supportive of dual-career couples. |
